InfoTrack is a British software company providing various services to solicitors who deal with property transactions.

One such service is their identity verification product, which forces people who are looking to buy or sell property to link their phone number and then have their face scanned.

Their client-facing platform, branded as "eCOS" (Electronic Client Onboarding Solution), immediately requires SMS verification to access at all, and upon beginning the ID verification process, the user is forced to switch to a mobile device and the grant the web app access to both cameras. InfoTrack's website also advertises that rather than a simple photo of the identity document, users can be made to install a mobile app which uses the phone's NFC capabilities to read data from the biometric chip in your passport.

If your solicitor is trying to force this on you, push back on it and be enough of an inconvenience until they give in. If they don't budge, find another solicitor.
